It has been more than three decades since Georgia passed any law to control firearm access — even though most Georgians support foundational gun safety measures. The toll keeps rising.

Through grassroots, volunteer-led efforts, Georgia Majority for Gun Safety has become the statewide voice Georgia was missing.
Built Georgia’s only state-focused advocacy organization
Creating the vehicle to close the gap between public opinion and public policy on gun violence prevention in Georgia.
Established a daily presence at the Capitol
Volunteer lobbying groups greet legislators every day of the session, reminding them that the majority of Georgians support gun safety.
Helped defeat harmful legislation
Including proposals to deregulate silencers, create tax holidays for firearm purchases, expand “Stand Your Ground” laws, and pay bonuses to teachers who carry guns in the classroom.
Recruited 100+ Gun Safety Candidates
Over 100 candidates for office have signed our Gun Safety Candidate Pledge, committing to act on the crisis if elected.
Organized town halls and rallies statewide
Community events across Georgia focused on gun violence reduction, plus press conferences, interviews, and dozens of published opinion pieces.
Educated communities across the state
A growing audience of 1,400+ newsletter subscribers and 1,000+ Instagram followers receiving action alerts and events every month.
